OSK Research's top picks: Banks, healthcare, consumer

Written by Melody Song Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:40

KUALA LUMPUR: The top three sectoral picks for the next six to 12 months for investors are the banking, healthcare and consumer sectors, says OSK Research Sdn Bhd head Chris Eng.

This is on the back of improving economic sentiment globally and locally despite some short-term volatility with "business as usual" in 3Q10 onwards.

Eng was speaking at the launch of the OSK Top Malaysian Small Cap Book: 50 Jewels on Thursday, May 6.

In the short term, Eng suggests investors consider banking, CONSTRUCTION [] and Sarawak-related stocks.

He also recommended watching automotive and oil and gas stocks in the second half of the year on the back of improving consumer sentiment and the potential listing of several Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) units.

Eng's fair value for the FBM KLCI this year is 1,345.
